Exciting news…in January I will be moving on from my mycology apprenticeship to pastures new (hopefully with some good waxcaps) to take up a post as Countryside Education Ranger at Bowhill, near Selkirk!
The apprenticeship has been an incredible experience, where I have learnt new skills, met some fantastic people and gained confidence professionally and personally.
I hope my new job will give me opportunities to tell others about the wonderful world of fungi and how important they are to biodiversity and supporting our ecosystems.
Thanks to BTCV, Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, the other apprentices and my mentors Roy Watling, Nev Kilkenny and Liz Holden. It has been fun-gi-tastic!
