A Nursery in Bloom – Summer 2015

July 24, 2015 by Tree Nursery Volunteers

Summer! We are preparing beds and have started to collect the first cherries of this year’s seed collecting season. While Jon has entered his last month Nerea has just experienced her first.
Among the Poppies – (right to left) Lindsey (volunteers trial day), Roxane (French intern), Jon (EVS), Wendy (local volunteers), Ben (YES! programme), Sissy (staff), Nerea (EVS) and Jonathan (local volunteers)

Jon, Denmark:
We (other EVS and I) went on a trip to Enniskillen and saw this house, which they call a castle.

The nice lakelands of Enniskillen.

More lakeland.

Nerea, Spain:

“I think I arrived to Northern Ireland in the best moment, when the summer and great weather arrived as well to Bangor.

We visited Rathlin Island, and we could enjoy the sea-birds! Razorbill, Puffin, Fulmar, and much more! It was so exciting because in Spain we have not that kind of birds. And also, we saw seals!

We went to Oxford Island with the amazing Tree Nursery’s  van to do activities with children in a family day “Bee Curious“.

This is my first month but I have done a lot of different things.  I met a lot of people, in Tree Nursery and in the city, from Bangor and Northern Ireland, Portugal, Hungary, Spain, France… It is really interesting to meet people from different countries because you can learn different cultures, languages… that may make you grow as a person.

Just amazing for my first month here!”
