7 March 2012 – Inverness Green Gym
Today we were out with the Inverness Green Gym at Merkinch Local Nature Reserve to carry out some weeding on the main path that runs along the shoreline. Even although it was freezing and the clouds looked a little threatening, it didn’t put off our team of dedicated Green Gymers, who got stuck straight into the weeding.

L: Peter showing us how it’s done;
We did get interrupted by a massive sleet/hail gale coming in of the firth! In the distance it looked like a little rain cloud, then suddenly we were all being blasted by the wind, hail, snow and sleet. We all headed to the old ferry ticket office and had our tea break. Luckily by the time we had finished our tea the sun was shining again and we all got back to work! We ended our morning with a wee stroll around the reserve.
