Well would you believe it… 20th January. One year ago to the day, fresh from a two-month stint of unemployment very extended Christmas break, I stepped into the Sub-Arctic climate of the Stirling office meeting room and began my twelve-month (soon to be extended to fifteen month) Natural Communities traineeship with TCV. And well, to attempt to sum it up in a few sentences would do the experience no justice at all, so I’ll leave that for a final, longer post in three months’ time.
With three months to go, there’s not really any sign of things slowing down. I have thirteen days of Employability Award (see here) delivery coming up between now and April, as well as a programme of Forest School-style outdoor engagement with Newbattle High School at the beautiful Vogrie Country Park. Oh, and a few mid-week groups and Green Gyms to cover, and my Forest School coursework to finish, and several mentoring sessions with our fantastic Coastal Communities group in East Lothian. OH, and THIS SHOWCASE EVENT on 26th February, to celebrate the last four years of the Natural Communities programme, which you should really think about coming along to. It will be great fun, and there will be biscuits.
