A busy year…..

February 20, 2015 by heatherparris

Well, it’s been just over a year since I met the other Natural Communities trainees at our induction in Stirling and how time flies.  We were told at the start that things would get busy pretty quickly which hasn’t been too far wrong!

From community consultations to delivering school workshops and surveying for otter poo to community litter picks, the past 13 months have been interesting and passed in a flash. Over the last year I’ve been developing opportunities to engage a wider audience with their local rivers and there’s little sign of things slowing down.  Hopefully speeding up if some recent funding bids are successful (fingers crossed, and toes).  It will be a shame to leave things at a point when they are really start to grow but encouraging to leave opportunities for the Foundation to develop things further once I’ve moved on.

I’m going to keep things brief but just wanted to touch base to let you know about what should be a great event next week – the Natural Communities Showcase Event – a chance to find out more about what we’ve all be up to, to meet and share ideas with others working to engage communities with the environment across Scotland, as well as a celebrating the successes of this fantastic programme.  Do come along and celebrate with us – tickets available here https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/natural-communities-showcase-tickets-15177197406?ref=estw (be quick though as we’ve almost reached capacity).

See you there.
