Free Community Engagement Workshops and Celebration

January 15, 2015 by Citizen Science

The Natural Communities team are coming towards the end of their placements and we are planning a showcase event of community engagement workshops to share information about the projects, talk about lessons learnt and celebrate the projects they have all been working on.  We’re planning some great workshops including youth engagement, using environmental art and applying community learning and development.

It would be great to see partner organisations, community groups and anyone else interested in this innovative approach to environmental community engagement there.  It’s free to attend, but places are limited, so sign up now.

Natural Communities Showcase
The Conservation Volunteers Scotland
Thursday, 26 February 2015 from 10:00 to 13:30, Stirling, United Kingdom

DSCN2129

The Conservation Volunteers’ innovative Natural Communities Programme is funded by Heritage Lottery Fund’s ‘Skills for the Future’, and has run in Scotland and Northern Ireland since 2011. It has developed a highly successful and innovative participatory approach to community environmental engagement, working with 27 partner organisations and over 38,000 volunteers from a range of communities to improve connection to nature in more than 130 green places.

The showcase event will provide:

  • participatory workshops sharing innovative community environmental engagement approaches and learning
  • opportunities to meet and share ideas with trainees, community groups and organisations working to engage communities with the environment across Scotland – during facilitated networking sessions and lunch
  • an opportunity to learn about and join us to celebrate the successes of the project

If you would like to know anything else you can see full details of the project and book here or contact Dominic on d.hall@tcv.org.uk with any questions.
