Hi all,
I can´t believe that I have already been here for two months, time flies! This last month has been very exciting for me as I have started working more in depth in some of the projects.
I am involved in the Inner Forth Landscape Initiative, a partnership programme whose main aim is to enhance the nature, history and culture of the Inner Forth Estuary while making the area more accessible to residents and visitors. I have already attended some community meetings and I have met great people so far who are interested in both improving their local areas and learning about their wildlife. It seems to be a very promising project.
Moreover, we are currently preparing an event that will take place on Easter Day with COP (Cultenhove Opportunities, Stirling). Kate and Amanda (last year´s trainees) participated in a similar event with this community and they were so happy with the results that they wanted to repeat. This year´s event will include a wildlife walk, looking at bugs under microscopes and some arts & crafts. I´m sure we will all have great fun!
I will also be delivering some activities with other communities in Glasgow and attending spring events. Hopefully the weather will get better soon and we will be able to enjoy some nice days out.
However, not everything is about work, we also have time for a wee party every now and again. Last month we celebrated Spain day after a hard week of work. We enjoyed a great variety of things such as ham and cheese, Spanish chicken, olives, Spanish omelette and “sangria” (although a Scottish prepared it, I have to admit it was really good!).
