Today the group started with an exciting new project, as we began our first day of work at our new site in Bannockburn, where we will be laying some much needed new steps on a sloping footpath on one side of the Bannockburn. For today’s task a group of nine, braved the elements and managed to excavate a long trench into which we will place railway sleepers to form steps. It snowed a lot and it was very cold. The wind did not help either!!! The wet snow quickly turned our trench into a morass and we soon began to slip and slide about. With our trench almost done, we decided to call it a day and head for home. Tomorrow, we will return to finish off digging our trench, to remove some stone steps and to dig some new drains. We will be at this site for a few weeks yet and we will be hoping for better weather.
