20 March 2012 – Loch Flemington
Yesterday saw the Midweek group back out at Loch Flemington to continue with the New Zealand Pygmyweed control. It’s a slow process but with each day out we are finding it easier and getting into our stride – the wind doesn’t help though! Luckily we are partly sheltered in an inlet area but the water is still a little choppy where we are working (but out past the point in the main section of the loch it is pretty lethal!)
As always the day started with tea & biscuits and the plan of action for the day – not sure what Elspeth was telling us here but we don’t look very amused!!
Maybe something about wheelbarrowing and carrying rocks all morning?
Shifting of rocks L-R: Bruce, Grant and new VO John
The fun begins after lunch when it’s into the waders and the water.
Callum, Mairi & Gillian planning their next move!
And no one can say we aren’t having fun! I suppose the only reaction to being thigh high in murky water with freezing arms and feet is laughter? 😉
