The children of Glenwood Primary School cooled off with Northern Ireland Fire Service following a sunny day weeding and planting at Carlisle Circus in Belfast today. After a visit from Northern Ireland water, we were able to fill our brand new water butts, and give our freshly planted seedlings a good drink!
Friday saw the completion of my 2 day basic woodworking course at the Coleraine office, with the reward of 2 lovely self-made planters, and 6 very satisfied course attendees!
With the recent arrival of volunteer week, the smell of TCV barbeques filled the Belfast air. My community group left Knockbracken with big smiles and full bellies after a day of hard graft down at the allotment. Here’s the picture of our brand new stone barbeque, courtesy of our Volunteer Officer, Mick – and complete with recycled spade handles for hot plates!
