On Saturday the residents of Devlin court gathered to celebrate the end of the summer and the blooming of their new herb garden.
We held a BBQ to celebrate the success of the project and to share it with the other residents of the court, their families and friends. Around 40 residents, family members and friends came along to the event along with Noelia and me from TCV.
It was a pleasure to admire the garden and to spend time with the residents who I have enjoyed getting to know over the last few months through the activities and gardening sessions that have formed my personal project.
A Huge thank you to Noelia from TCV Stirling who came along and put on such an incredible range of exciting activities that grandparents, children and grandchildren alike were entertained all afternoon making tree cookies, pine cone bird-feeders, nature mobiles and painting stones and flags.
Though I am very happy with the success of the project it is a little sad to see my personal project drawing to a close as I have enjoyed it so much. Thankfully we still have a couple of gardening and evaluation sessions before wrapping up the project for the winter!
For now, here are a few snaps from Saturday:
As one project comes to the end another begins, this time at Royal Scot Court in Bathgate where we have just secured the funding from Cairn Community Fund to run another herb garden project and a gardening club. I am very excited to start the next herb garden and thank you again to Cairn Housing for supporting both projects.
