Its June already I have abandoned my blog without even noticing that two months have flown by! I will give you a pictorial insight into what I have been up to in April and May.
April-Visit to the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh
Two of my community groups came to visit the RBGE to pot seeds, do a bit of drawing and have a good ol explore of the garden.
Below are photos of The Welcoming Association enjoying their visit.
May- Planning
I spend most of May finalising and planning for events for my groups. The Welcoming Association were due their first visit to Holyrood Park.I was also due to visit and provide actvities for my youth group for the first time at Drylaw Neighborhood Centre.
I decided to ask my groups, what would you like to do at Holyrood Park?
(To name a few see below)
1. Photography of Flowers, plants Landscape
2. Elderflower picking then…make Elderflower cordial?
3. What insects visit ‘The Green Crag plants are you interested?’
4.Do you want to walk to the summit of Arthur’s seat?
I gave the group lots of colorful pictures of the activity ideas and used these to find out what the groups interests were.

I also went to see my youth group for the first time at the centre we played a game called: Mini Nature Park, the group had to pick their favorite spot within the community garden and put string around it and say why they want to save it etc…
We then all talked about Holyrood Park and based art and outdoors activities based on the Holyrood Park actvity themes.
After all my actvities were finished I joined in with some bug hunting and was soon recruited and the slug picker upper assistant which was a slimy experience.
I then spotted the Red Campion Flower and showed the group and told them that this can be found at Holyrood Park.
That’s when it clicked ,I’m getting good at plants.
