Wednesday May 30th saw the second public drop-in gardening session at the Green Man Garden, and there was plenty for the volunteers to enjoy!
Not only did we have a beautiful sunny day, but there was also the small matter of maintaining the rocket and radishes that had shot up… As you can see from above, Katy and Lydia happily undertook the task and were rewarded with their lunch to take home.
The radishes have done really well in the raised beds – no pests seem to have attacked them other than the squirrels who sometimes dig them up. We’ve made more sowings each session so that we’ll have a succession to harvest through the year – so if you’re yet to come along and join us, don’t worry – you haven’t missed all the fun!
