Flanders Moss is a beautiful raised bog just outside Stirling.
Our team of TCV volunteers were joined by the SNH Rangers who help protect the site, Kevin McCulloch and Alan Dorman, and a Jo King who is a volunteer at Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.
Despite the recent torrential rain and miserable winter weather we were in luck and had not a drop of rain until it was home time!
However, the higher water level made the walk to the part of the site we were working at rather amusing!
The task for the day was the removal of Christmas trees. Theses trees, if left, would dry out the bog and stop the lovely bog-loving plants from living here.
The day was such a success with a big area of Christmas trees removed and some of our volunteers even took some Christmas trees home!!
