On Thursday we started our three day project over at the River Almond with a flying start! In the morning we had to clean the path of mud and decaying leaves as well as performing maintenance on some existing drains and even making some new ones. While this was hard work, and the mud-decaying leaf mix had the constancy of pig muck, the volunteers still managed to shoot through this work very quickly and move on to the next days work. This work involved chopping down several trees that had been marked by the local ranger without losing any to the river. This was also done quickly and safely leaving only a few tricky trees to cut down next time.
