Today we went to Woodside Meadow which is a meadow created at an amenities area near Great Western Road. We managed to get eleven volunteers out in total today which made for a really good day.
The groups main task was to rake the cuttings on the meadow and place them into a skip. This was a a very big task and the group did great to get as much as we did done with a little bit to be done by a group next week.
Our other task was to plant some woodland plants and seeds within a designated area to provide a bit a screen for a fence for a glaze football pitch there was several different types of plants- within the a hundred and fifty we had to plant- including fox glove primrose and hedge woundwort, luckily the ground was soft and these went in without any bother.
Overall the day was felt to be a good day by the group though they were a little exasperated towards the end but liked the fact they could see what they had done and understood how it would make a difference.
