Last Tuesday and Thursday the Edinburgh Mid week group were over at Lochend park completing some woodland management work. The willow trees were in particular need of some trimming and by the end of Tuesday the difference that had been made in terms of the visibility of the lake was huge.
An honourable mention has to be made to Thursday group of volunteers who battled constant rain to not only finish the trimming but also drag what ended up looking like a couple of tonnes of cut branches the 50M or so down the path to where a point where they can be wood chipped this week, thanks guys for a tremendous effort!
It was also nice to get some positive feedback from the parks regulars on their walks by, all of whom were very satisfied with the work that had been done.
