Willow planting in the snow
We had such an exciting adventure tree planting near Contin! We most certainly need snow tyres on our vans as we ended up getting stuck about 12 times trying desperately to reach the top of the hill where the trees were to go. We didn’t give up though, even when a friendly landrover tried to pull us and their rope snaped! Maybe I need to stop eating so many crisp sandwiches, but they just really hit the spot! Anyway finally at the top of the hill after an hour of fun (a journey which normally takes 15 mins) we set to work. We were taking cuttings of willow from nearby trees and planting them all along The River Peffery to help stabalise the banks. The day was very much enjoyed by all especially Archie the dog who ate lots of tasty snowballs.
Many thanks to all my truly hardy vols, Elspeth x
