3 weeks ago we started a new and challenging project in Fintry, the installation of a bridge that will be part of a footpath connecting Kippen with Kilsyth. Since our first day we have made a lot of progress and the steel sub-structure is almost in place. With the invaluable help of the Edinburgh group, we managed to carry the metal sections from the van to the work-site.
After much tightening and loosening and retightening and undoing and retightening of bolts we were able to put the large securing end plates on, only to have to take them off again! Once we had drilled into the concrete the plates were reattached after some more tightening and loosening and retightening and undoing and retightening of bolts!!
Now all that’s left is to finally secure the sub-structure to the concrete and attach the wooden handrails and the decking.
