Hi folks,
Filling of the labyrinth has finally started after 12 tonnes of type 1 were delivered by a very skillful driver who only nearly got stuck in the mud once (or twice maybe…) on a particularly wet Tuesday morning, around 7.40am, yes, 7.40 AM.
When it came to the shoveling and barrowing we hoped it wasn’t going to be as bad as it looked and that the huge pile of aggregate would actually get smaller as the day went on…
We laid down some weed suppressant and started filling it up:
The garden gang did a grand job on day one of shoveling, barrowing and emptying, and didn’t even get too dizzy going round and round with the barrow! We’ll leave the type 1 to rest and bed in so when we come back next time we can top up where we need to.
By the end of day one, there were even some smiles:
We couldn’t have come this far if it wasn’t for the garden’s gang of dedicated volunteers who come in all weathers all year round or for those at CSV who kindly donated £250 to the project enabling us to buy the type one as well as some bulbs to plant in between pathways, so big THANK YOU to all the volunteers and THANK YOU CSV!
