March 27th 2012 – Midweek Group at Loch Flemington
This blog post is a bit overdue but it’s been all change and rest here at the Inverness office. Our last day at Loch Flemington was Tuesday 27th March, which is a month ago now – how time flies! This last month has seen VO Charlotte finish and move onto pastures new, our two new residential VO’s moving in, Esther and Matt, and VO Mairi leaving for sunnier adventures, although she will be returning.
The last day at Loch Flemington turned out to be a scorcher, much to the annoyance of the two VO’s stuck inside on a First Aid course! Does anyone remember that sunny spell? Hard to recall it after spending this week clearing rhododendrons in the rain.
All the photos for this post are courtesy of our regular volunteer Mark, who has kindly emailed them over for us to put on the blog & our flickr.
We all enjoyed Loch Flemington, although I’m sure leaky waders and horrendous amounts of rock carrying won’t be missed greatly!!
L-R: Going by Elspeth’s expression the water is still a bit chilly; Aaron keeping it colourful!
Hopefully we’ll be returning to continue some more New Zealand pygmy weed control at some point, but for now it’s back to some more rhododendron clearing while we wait for the Himalayan Balsam!
