14 March 2012 – Inverness Green Gym
Yesterday we were back up at Dunain Community Woodland with the Inverness Green Gym’ers to continue with our gorse clearing. It’s a prickly task but as always everyone is raring to get stuck in, once they’ve had a shot of the giant xylophones! And of course had our tea and biscuits!
15 March 2012 – Dingwall Green Gym
Today we were out with the Dingwall Green Gym at Tarradale Primary School, doing a wee tidy up of their lovely garden. The sun was shining down on us – it almost felt like summer! We had a number of tasks to carry out so a good turn out meant a nice range of activities going on including weeding the paths and beds/planters, digging up/turning the soil for an area earmarked for a pond and cutting down some old vegetation.
Mairi & Kelsea cutting down some old vegetation
Gillian, Charlotte & Callum digging up the soil
Rory having a well earned tea break after weeding the planters
Well deserved tea & biscuits in the sunshine!
It was a lovely morning with greenfinches singing in the trees, the ravens cawing from the nearby woodland and frogs roaming the school playground – we’re looking forward to returning their next Thursday.
