Our heroes have been at it again, saving the people of fife from blocked paths and the imminent danger posed by wind blown trees!
Yes it has been a few more weeks of brashing at Lochore meadows.
Our valiant volunteers have cut and cleared every horizontal (and even some still vertical) tree they could find within the park.
But it has not been an easy task, fraught with danger and distraction. They have endured high winds and lashing rain, been mesmerised by the awesome destructive power of the chainsaw and bravely carried on as trees fell all around them.
Still it has not been all hard work, that faithful friend of all heroes’, the tea break has helped them to carry on well beyond any normal human ability. Plus a small band broke off to search for fluffy lichens and determine the quality of air the people of fife are breathing in the park. Does their dedication know no bounds!
Our heroes were happy to discover that the air quality was pretty darn good, so no work needed there, and found a pretty cool fungus to boot. An ear fungus, growing on an old beech tree that as the name suggests, looks and feels just like a human ear! Weird and slightly alarming but our heroes judged it to be no threat.
So their work it seems is done with regards to brashing,
But never fear!
The story continues ….. our heroes will be working in the park for many weeks to come …. So watch this space to hear of their adventures.
