Hello
Since I’m half way through my second week I thought I should do an introduction post. I’m Gillian, one of the new VOs here at TCV Inverness. So far I’ve been out with two of the Green Gyms. On Monday we were building a bug hotel at the New Craigs Therapy Garden, which looks rather nice and snug for the insects. Today it was the Inverness GG where we were cutting back the vegetation for the Corbett Centre.
You can read more about today’s activities on the previous TCV Inverness post by Charlotte.
Rhododendron Clearing
Yesterday I was out with the Midweek group where we were doing Rhododendron clearance for the Cromarty Firth Fisheries Trust on the River Orrin. Using the lever and mulch technique we got through quite a bit and I’m sure we all slept sound after our hard days work – I know I did!
It’s always nice to see the light shining through the trees more, realising that the beast of a bush that was blocking it has now disappeared! We will be back out on Friday with bow saws and loppers in hand (not forgetting the tea and biscuits!) to tackle some more.
