Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th November
We started a new project this week at Dunbog Primary School, surrounded by the beautiful countryside of North East Fife, where we will create a fun outdoor classroom for the pupils to enjoy.
Although the beginning of November it was a wonderful sunny two days and even a few layers were peeled off as we got to work!
Douglas and Robert began their assault on the weeds in the herb garden, with Douglas’ strength coming in handy once again to remove the slabs, while Mike and Cat cleared the area for the raised bed. Tony began work on the new gate and fence, with the help of Stephen, as the rest of us put in the fence posts.
A special mention has to be made of Amy’s impressive effort to put in her first fence post. She didn’t give up when faced with the foundations of the side wall of the garden but kept digging and finally the post was in! Stuart also hit a rocky patch when digging the hole for his post but with the help of Sandy and a great deal of sweat it was completed too.
By the end of our fist week then we had half the fence constructed and the garden cleared ready for planting and the raised beds, with not a drop of rain until we got in the van on the Friday afternoon, how’s that for timing.
