Thursday 27th and Friday 28th October, Quarrymill, Perth
This week we were faced with the herculean task of removing almost impenetrable Elder growth in the mixed woodland at Quarrymill. Naturally we started the days work with a cup of coffee and biscuits to keep our strength up, which made us very popular with all the passing dogs!
We had fine weather for it and it wasn’t long after we started that it became clear a pesky patch of Elder was no match for our group. In particular Douglas “The Hulk” whose muscles of steel soon had half the area cleared, with Amy and Tony working hard to keep up with him!
Robert did a fantastic job with the loppers so we could find a way in to the patch while Mike cleared away those that had already fallen victim to our very own human chainsaw. By the end of the two days we had a huge area cleared and a mountain of cut trees lined up against the path ready for the wood chipper.
