After Sandy and Dave’s motivating tool talk the Green Gym continued to work on creating accessible woodland for the community on the estate. We used the wood from trees which were cut earlier in the year to make benches and path edging. The rest of the wood was chipped and used for paths. Areas were designated for habitat piles (Jenny’s was the most impressive!) Nicki rescued strawberry plants and replanted them along the path edges. There are also some wild carrots in secret locations. A few volunteers were determined to move a mound of rubble and what a difference in only a few hours.
The area looks much more inviting. If you are lucky you can sit on a bench and watch the Muntjac deer run across the fields.
