This week on Tuesday we were back at the Linwood community woodlands where we needed to replace some way markers that had been removed from the holes which had been made for them. We had a nice walk around in search of the missing way may markers and managed to find them and put them back in their rightful place. It was once again quite a nice day to my disappointment because I still hadn’t had the chance to try on my waterproofs. For those of you who got a lift in the van would know that I was driving this week. All I can say is that I hope my driving was up to standard.
On Wednesday we were out at Hillview nursery. Julie asked John to see how long he could last without mentioning the old firm derby to Robbie as they both support opposite teams.
He managed to last an entire 10mins which is quite good, I don’t think I could have lasted that long. When we got to Hillview were were tasked with weeding the path where Ian excelled himself I have never seen anyone who could weed so fast!
Thursday Julie and I were drafted in to help out with the Inverclyde Green Gym’s first meeting. We were up at the Greenock cut centre where the rangers took the new volunteers round the glen to describe all of the task that were needing doing. Finally I got a chance to try out my waterproof s although they weren’t entirely required but everyone will be delighted to know they fitted perfectly and are also bright green. I’ll need to get them dirty I think they just don’t look right clean. We then had our tea break and got down to some work moving logs that had been cut. It was a very enjoyable day despite the weather I’d highly recommend going up to the Greenock Cut if you haven’t already as it is beautiful up there.
Thank you to all the volunteers that helped us again this week.
Kerr.
