Well its that time of the week again, yes its monday!!!. And while most of the world is going “oh no not monday” you wont be hearing that from our hardy lot of volunteers. Who dont even give me a chance to get out of the van before giving me a welcoming arrival. This week was our first visit to the Garscadden Burn which is right next door to the Donald Dewar Sports Centre, where we were tasked with cleaning up any litter on site and to also trim back any branches along the route.
While we were there we managed to remove eight bags of litter, which ranged from the usual suspects, cans, crisps packets, empty bottles, and onto the more unusual which included a push chair.
We all had a great day chatting amongst ourselves while we walked about, that was untill the rain came along and dampened our day. But that was ten minutes from the end of our day, so we hunkered down under the shelter of the sports centre and enjoyed an extra cup of coffee to help dry us out and make the rain go away. It certainly worked a treat.
See you all next week, when we will be visiting the Yoker cycle path for some pulling up of Himalayan Balsam and a general cut back.
Thanks again
Leigh
