I know I probably say that too many times, but the Renfrewshire Green Gym always have a great time while we are out and about, as you can see by our numerous photograph’s every week. There is never a frown while the group is around, which is always a good thing as a smile always keeps the day moving all that much quicker. I don’t know whether the day going fast is a good thing as everybody enjoys themselves so much the volunteers don’t want to go home at the end of the day.
Tuesday as usual is our day at the Linwood Community Gardens, where the Bottle Greenhouse is being errected. Woohoo I hear you say, as now we have four sides with just the roof and front door to go. So only one or two sessions more till it is completed and we can all breathe a sigh of relief and pat ourselves on the back.
On Wednesday we all got into the van and headed off to the Paisley Museum, to help them with a garden to the rear of the museum. Where we needed to remove a lot of weeds from two beds and place new plants into the area. This was a lovely day in the sunshine as the Observatory loomed above us, the sun shone down. Robbie, one of the volunteers has been given the task of Tea-person. So the coffee’s in future, will be on par with masterchef. Unlike mine, where you have to settle for 2 grains of coffee and 1 grain of sugar. 😀
And for our final visit of the week we all headed off to Howwood to help repair waymarkers along the Howwood Blue Route walk. All the volunteers this day deserve a small medal, as I can now see why Julie said we need moderate fitness levels. The day would have been a breeze except we had to carry all the tools with us over moorland. You definetly know we had a good days work as everybody was quiet in the van on the way back to Paisley.
Thanks again guys and girls, i’m sure we’ll see you all again next week for more adventures in the Green Gym Mystery bus 😀
Yours
Leigh
