In April the garden said a sad farewell (for now) to the West Lothian Youth Action Project, who had been coming out since the project started in November, through rain, hail, sun but mostly snow! There were uncertainties and smiles along the way, but mostly loads of fun and hard work with the bribe of tea and biscuits, but not always. A few surprises cropped up along the way too – some of the girls surprised themselves when they discovered how much they actually enjoyed working in the garden. New friends were made while they worked along side the schools that came to help too.
One of the staff from the youth project even has a photo of her husband in the garden as a child – lots of history. The garden was very, very overgrown when they started but with loads of effort and team work put it by everyone, they made a huge difference by the end of their time there. So a big thank you to all who came along. Enjoy and come back soon. The pictures say it all really…
A great big thanks again to Alex, Evelyn and Jade for bringing the gang along and we all hope to see you again soon!
