Well what an odd week of weather we’ve had here, its managed to throw most of what it had at us. Soaking us to the bone on tuesday then thankfully drying us off the next, I just wish it would make up its mind but I guess thats sunny Scotland for you. Something that I am quickly learning about round here is the weather can be as fickle as it can be in England. But we didn’t let that stop us, pah whats a bit of rain I hear you say. 😀
On Tuesday we headed off to the Linwood Community Gardens to continue the contruction of the Bottle Greenhouse, but the weather only seemed to hold us back in certain area’s. Apologies for not having more photographs but seeing as the forcast for the coming week is good I hope to have a lot more action shots of our great volunteers, who always turn out no matter what the weather.
Thursday was an exceptional day for the weather as we made out first visit to St Fergus Primary school in the heart of Ferguslie, where we were tasked with clearing out one of the school’s internal gardens. Great fun was to be had by all as it turned into some kind of treasure hunt, seeing who could find the weirdest objects. As you can see by the photo we managed to uncover a lovely mosaic, accompanied along with by various footballs, frisbies, broken pots and even the odd shoe or two. Please note, do not try throwing a bouncy ball in an enclosed space, maybe this is what happens inside the Large Hadron Collider. The greatest find of the day had to be the birds nest, which even included baby birds. We decided not to photograph them as it might disturb them too much.
As I say every week, a big thank you to all the volunteers who come out with us. You always do a thankless task, so that always leaves me to heap praise on you.
Bunch of stars you all are 😀
Yours
Leigh
