Hi folks, sorry that it has been a few weeks since the blog has been updated. Things have been somewhat chaotic as the we have not had any internet in the office. It is terrible how much I now rely on the internet and being internet free for two weeks was a challenge!
Never mind about my technology problems Im sure you would rather find out what the West Glasgow group has been up to.
Well Leigh was leading the group along with local Countryside Ranger Fiona. An afternoon was spent in the Garscadden Woodland where volunteers enjoyed a good walk and also did some cutting back and transplanting some small trees to more suitable locations.
The following the week the volunteers were helping Brisith Waterways along the canal. The plan for the session was to do some prep work for a new access path that the Glasgow TCV midweek group will be making. The main tasks for the day were to cut back overgrown vegetation and clear the existing drainage ditch at the top of the slope. We finished in good time and took a wee look at the canal and found the nest of the local swans who were enjoying a wee trip ‘doon the water’.
Hopefully everyone enjoyed last weeks bank holidays and are well rested for the tasks in June, fingers crossed the sun keeps shining for us!
