Thanks go to everybody that turned out this week, especially on Wednesday, which was one of the times of the year that we always end up in the BTCV tool shed. With lots of hands on deck we almost managed to complete all the tasks set out for the day. But at least I can now move freely around the toolshed, without fear of coming a cropper. Also the BTCV Van is all nice and shiney now, elbow grease does wonders I can tell you.
On Tuesday we were at the Woodlands Primary School to help with their school garden, which was in much need of our talented hands. Mainly due to the fact that having thorny plants in a school garden is not a good idea, so all those had to come out and be transported elsewhere to be replanted. Good job there guys and girls.
Everything this week lead up to Thursday which was my first official day of leading the group. What a nervous week it has been for me indeed, but all went as well as planned as we headed off to Boden Boo in Erskine.
As this was my first time leading the group, I was in no way going to let that motley crew get away with an easy time of it. So with stick in hand we toiled away in the woodland and managed to come out with around fifty tree guards, a shopping trolley and half a wheelbarrow. That was only half of the days activities, so for the second half we all marched off in hunt of litter, of which we managed to collect around six bags. At this point however the threat of heavy rain called play to an end and we all headed off to the van so we could all go home and enjoy our weekends.
Lastly let me say thank you again to all of you who turned out, we look forward to seeing you out again with us.
Yours
Leigh
