Yes thats right, first day back after the bank holiday. And what a day it was, could not have asked for a more perfect day. The sun was blazing down on us, so much so that we were all in T-shirts after 5 minutes of arrival on site. Hopefully we will get alot more days like that in the next coming months, as we’ll all have glorious suntans to show off. 🙂
A big thanks to everybody that turned out with us today, for any of those that couldnt make it, you missed a great day out in the sun. As we arrived on site it was clear what needed to be done. One of our first tasks was to remove all the grass along the first path, which was encroaching on it and threatening to break it up by growing through it. After tea break we decided on a change of direction and we went on a hunt for baby Oak trees. We dug out some small oak saplings that were being crowded out by larger trees, giving them a better chance of survival. After a good look around we only managed to find a few scatered around, so they were safely replanted elsewhere.
We also came across plenty of flora and fauna, a few of which we had photographed, see if you can guess what it is from the photo. No cheating 😛
Before we knew it, it was time to pack up and head back home, so we all hit the van in the hope of next time we come out, the sun will follow us too.
P.S the answer is Wood Anemone.
