On Tuesday this week we were joined on site by local MSP Wendy Alexander and Peter Beagley from Braehead Shopping Centre, to hand out certificates to volunteers who had reached 50 and 100 days of volunteering with us. Well done and a big thanks, to the six volunteers who reached one of their milestones with the Renfrewshire Green Gym. The countryside is looking better due to all your hard work.
Also while I dont forget, a really great big thanks to Braehead Shopping Centre for for continued support for another year. The vital funding that Braehead provides means the Green Gym can continue to improve local environments and involve more local residents… so if you want to volunteer then get in touch.
On Thursday we visited Lamont City Farm, one of the first inner city farms in Scotland, to help them create a new area just outside the main entrance to the farm.
Everything was going grand untill we pulled up one area of grass to find some old bones, which is when some of us decided to don our “CSI” hats and have a good close investigation of the area. Fortunately we only managed to turn up a few bones and after a good discussion we are no closer to deciding what they are. So we took some photo’s so we can investigate further, hopefully one of you readers will be able to help us identify them, because after lots of head scratching a few of us are quite bald.
