Well done to the volunteers at the Linwood Community Gardens, who this week completed work on the composting bin, which is also now in situ, so we can start to fill it with garden waste and get that all fired up and breaking down. Also a big thanks to all the people that are collecting their empty 2 litre plastic bottles, we are getting quite a collection of them now. Enough to start preparing what we have before the next load arrive, but we still need alot more to go. So keep the word out and about for undamaged 2 litre bottles.
Wednesday was a wet and windy day out and about in Howwood, who we joined on their annual community litter pick. Thanks to all who turned out, not only did we get quite a bit of litter removed, but we also got a nice healthy walk as part of the bargain.
Not to forget the nice people of the Howwood Inn, who provided us with hot drinks and soup for our tea break.
Thursday was Healthy Walk day at Castle Semple, on the shore of Loch Winnoch. We definetly got our legs out and about that day i can tell you. We also learned quite a few interesting facts about how the area was developed and its history.
Did you know that the Loch is only 5′ deep, so with me being 6’3″ i could comfortably walk across, so next time we are there and you see somebody waving at you from the other bank, have a look around and see wether i’m still with the group or not 😉
Thanks again people for the great turn out all week.
