Polkemmet Park begins! On secondment to Jupiter last week we began the Polkemmet Country Park Epic. There’s a 1000000 days to do and it’s so big it is being tackled by Stirling, Edinburgh and Jupiter.
We began the fight with two laurels (which fell to our bowsaws by the end of the day) and the BIGGEST rhoddy I have ever seen, which lived to fight with the Edinburgh group who were bringing in reinforcements the next day. Nothing has been heard from them since, so…..
Today we’re back to Smithstone, by Cumbernauld, to probably finish our forest planting with a bunch of Birch.
Wednesday this week is Julie Smith’s last day as a VO. The LEMUR project in Wales has recognised her talents. We’ll be sorry to loose her as she’s the only one who actually does anything around here, so we anticipate our office grinding to a halt. More of her send off later.
