Yes, today the turf lifter arrived !! After some fiddling and the discovery that it doesn’t really like completely sodden ground, we moved it to a drier area and the lifting commended. It doesn’t look like much, but by jove this thing is a labour saver! And into the bargain it cuts thinner slices than is easily done by hand, making the lifting and moving of the now lighter turf so much easier.

Oh yes, and we had the small matter of a skip to fill full of turf, which was made so much easier by our Kath purchasing some super new wheel barrows. Who would’ve though pneumatic wheels would make such a difference but they do. There was a bit of jostling going on for who got to the use the new ones, and who was left to haul the solid wheeled ones !
Choice of wheelbarrows…
Meanwhile, myself and Alan (the two Al’s) extended slightly the level area of ground we’ll be putting the shed onto tomorrow. The weather was even dry enough to allow a bit of tidying up and raking of the ground. In fact the weather today was a wonderful spring-like day with clear skies and a warm breeze- yes really !
