The beginning of the year saw a full mystery bus and even fuller biscuit box, as we re-visited Douglas Crescent Gardens to complete the second winding path with another few tons of hardcore (that’s ‘Type 1’ to you aggregate geeks).
Sub zero conditions saw us lunching in the sun and snow and breaking frozen stone with special ice picks which strangely resembled mattocks… Raaarrrr! ahem…
The next day was spent at historic Cammo estate in clear bright conditions, where we made a complete piggery of ourselves, by clearing the old piggery of small wind-seeded trees, and reclaiming the ruins of the old stable offices from ivy and laurel, which had engulfed the stone and kept it hidden from view.
Late afternoon saw a sledging trip up the tower hill where daredevil Douglas made a smashing downhill dash, clocking up a supersonic time! A bracing and fun filled start to our 2010 schedule, hands up for the BTCV snowsports team!
