Happy new year to all from Stirling.
An eventful past couple of months for the Stirling volunteers. We spent a couple of days at Head of Muir Primary School reconstructing willow domes and a couple of days spent at Witchwood Ponds at Coatbridge.
The other project that has been keeping us busy has been “rhody bashing” at Muiravonside Country Park.
Well done to the Falkirk & Stirling midweek groups for soldiering on through extremes of weather namely constant rain for the first few days and then recent snow. We are currently halfway through the project and have cleared a significant amount of rhodies which were then burnt in large bonfires. The volunteers were rewarded and marshmallows, mince pies and other goodies were enjoyed by all.
Also the new year has seen Community Project Officer, Alyson Hunter moving on within BTCV with Ali Lawson taking over Alyson’s role and we wish them both well in their new roles.
