Having recently moved to Scotland, a trip to the Cairngorm National Park for a site visit in my second week was a real treat. The scenery was stunning as I ventured deeper into the unknown landscape; the destination was Glenlivet Primary School to assess a small garden project. The school and local youngsters are keen to improve their grounds for wild life and learn about growing things. A highlight for me though was seeing my first wild bird of prey, it was a large red kite ahead gliding low. I had to stop and take a closer look because there is nothing like this where I’m from. I drove home with a smile and will hopefully do much more spotting of wildlife in the coming months, flora and fauna, in the Highlands. As for the primary school, you’ll have to keep posted to see how they get on…
