Last week we had the chance of doing lots of different works.
On Tuesday we were in Dr. Mackay’s Woodland adding posts to the chicken wire and lots of slashing / grass clearance, bramble scratches for everyone!
On Wednesday and Thursday we went back to Blacford Glen Rd to finish the handrail. The first day, we split the group in two. While some of us were doing the handrail, the others painted the handrail of the bridge. We couldn’t finish the painting cause we ran out of paint. So the afternoon was quite relaxed for some of us.
On Thursday we worked with Ranger Jess. We cut the branches of the trees and make bundles to use them in a future project to re-build revetments in Blackford Pond to slow the erosion of the bank. This time we couldn’t avoid the prickly plants either.
We also finished the handrail, it took longer than what we though but the work is very professional.
