Summer has finished with quite good weather and it was great to work in Strathesk primary school’s project with such a shinning sun.
We were back last Tuesday and Wednesday after two months. It might be a long time since we were there before, because there were plants grown in the top soil. So, first of all, we had to cut them to carry on working.
On Tuesday, we finished building the beds and we started filling them with stones and top soil.
On Wednesday, we went on putting the liner in the beds and filling them with stones and top soil. After that, we started painting the beds with purple colour but we couldn’t finish, so we will be back in another day.
On Thursday, we went to the Hermitage of Braid, but not to pulling out Himalayan Balsams. This time, we did fencing work; we started building a handrail on some very steep steps which many walkers were very happy to see. We also started to paint the Howe Dean Bridge, not as much of an undertaking as the Forth Bridge but it’ll keep us going for a couple of days yet.
