So the West Glasgow Green Gym is now up and running. Luckily we managed to enjoy a nice sunny day, which is surprising considering the recent weather. After a few minutes of warm up excerises and a tools talk the volunteers set off into the Garscadden Woodland in Drumchapel. The main task of the day was to cut back the bracken along the woodland paths. The bracken had grown very high and meant the paths were quite dark and it was not easy to see what lay ahead. After a few hours work the volunteers managed to remove a significant amount of bracken and greatly improved the visibility when using the paths. The volunteers all enjoyed an afternoon out in the fresh air and were happy with the end result. Stay tuned for news from week 2 …..
