An exhausting day at Dawsholm tiding up one of the entrances to the park. There was a lot of Bishop’s Weed which proved somewhat tricky to get rid of but with persistence we won the day. Plenty of nettles too which have an extensive root system, but easily recognised by the yellow colour. Once all the weeds were removed we turned over the soil and then added approximately 30 barrow loads of top soil from a nearby heap, made all the more difficult as the barrow had a flat tyre. Everyone took a turn and had to increase speed near the end of the line to get up the small hill, not everyone made it first time 😉
We also cleared a larger area of brash below some trees with a view to making it into a large planted bed in the future.
