BTCV Scotland are hosting our second VO Forum, which will be held at our Ayr office on Tuesday 15th September from 10.30am until 4pm.
The forum is exclusively for our Volunteer Officer’s, who support project staff to lead groups of volunteers to complete environmental projects. The forum was created off the back of some research undertaken into how BTCV Scotland could improve it’s offering to VO’s we support and how we can provide you with the most positive and fulfilling experience possible. Both VO’s and Project Officer’s felt a forum would be a great way for you to feel more involved with BTCV and to get the opportunity to contribute their ideas whilst finding out about other development opportunities they can get involved in with BTCV.
We held our first forum in May this year during a VO-only residential in Dunoon and the event was very successful. The forum including several short workshops through which we were able to collect project ideas from VO’s based on funding that BTCV can apply for. One of the ideas the VO’s came up with was submitted to the Heritage Lottery Fund a couple of months ago and they loved it, so we hope to turn this idea into an actual project for our volunteers.
The upcoming forum will include a tour of the campus, visiting community groups and volunteers working on projects supported by BTCV, getting input on how to improve our recruitment and induction processes and we’ll introduce our brand new youth consultation which our VO’s can all be involved in.
If you are already a VO with BTCV Scotland and would like to know more about the Forum or would like to book a space, please contact Denise on d.millan@tcv.org.uk.
