A fantastic day was had by the BTCV Ayr volunteers (well, there was less moaning than usual) at Kennedy Park in Dunure. We were there to assist Dunure Community Council with the construction of the labyrinth.
We had unseasonally good weather which meant that we were all down to our t-shirts within half an hour of starting work. Our task for the day was to move stone from the beach up a very steep, but short hill to the flat surface we had previously created (see prior blogs) for the labyrinth. A little bit of team work and a lot of muscle resulted in the task being acheived. The volunteers even had enough energy for a game of football at lunchtime, which is a pretty difficult task in steel toe wellies.
The community group were delighted with our efforts and hope to have laid the remaining stones in the labyrinth pattern prior to the park re-opening for the season in April.
There are plenty more photos in our web album, as always. The labyrinth is well worth a look.
