Last week we spent Wednesday and Thursday at the glorious place known as Airdrie. There is a burn with water vole burrows on either side and we had to cut back some of the trees and vegetation from the banks and then make habitat piles from the wood. Unfortunately water voles don’t have very good taste when it comes to accommodation because the stream they have chosen seems to double as the local tip. Check the pictures it was pretty horrible. To be honest I wouldn’t mind going back and clearing the rubbish out of it as it annoying just leaving it like that after our hard work. We got a good amount done though, got slagged by school children about our rugby skills, I fell in the stream, and we had six new volunteers out between the two days which was amazing especially in January.
