A few brave volunteers were out in the freezing conditions today to help one of our local community groups get some work done in the park.
We helped by digging out flower beds to increase the size (surprisngly, this wasn’t too bad as the ground lifted in nice chunks as it was frozen), we also helped by removing some unwanted plants and tidying up clippings of other plants. We now have several compost bins set up at our base so we can dispose of most of our waste here.
The group also had some fun skimming stones on the iced over boating pond. A very chilly day, but we achieved a lot and were generously rewarded with a packet of biscuits and some dolly mixtures!
